Moira Mallach

Trauma-Informed Psychotherapist

Moira Mallach, LMFT, is a trauma-informed psychotherapist who specializes in working with couples, children, adolescents, and adults. She believes that meaningful healing unfolds through safety, curiosity, and authentic connection. Moira is EMDRIA-trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and brings a thoughtful, integrative approach to therapy that supports clients in gently processing trauma, strengthening emotional regulation, and building healthier relationships with themselves and others.

Moira has extensive experience helping clients navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relational challenges, attachment wounds, and major life transitions. She works closely with children and adolescents, supporting them through emotional and behavioral challenges, identity development, school-related stress, and family dynamics. Moira prioritizes creating a developmentally attuned, emotionally safe environment where young clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to express themselves.

In her work with couples, Moira focuses on improving communication, increasing emotional intimacy, and helping partners break unhelpful relational patterns rooted in past experiences or attachment injuries. She supports couples in rebuilding trust, navigating conflict, and fostering deeper connection through compassion, insight, and mutual understanding.

Moira’s therapeutic style is holistic and client-centered, integrating evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Through CBT, she helps clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress. DBT-informed strategies are used to strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness—skills that are especially valuable for teens, couples, and individuals navigating intense emotions. Moira also draws from attachment-based, somatic, narrative, and psychodynamic therapies, honoring the interconnectedness of mind, body, and lived experience.

Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Moira moved to Los Angeles to pursue graduate training and earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Since beginning her career, she has been known for her warmth, authenticity, and grounded presence in the therapy room. Outside of her clinical work, Moira finds balance and inspiration through movement and exploration, including hot yoga, tennis, dance, meditation, scuba diving, and travel. A lifelong learner and avid reader, she is deeply guided by curiosity, growth, and discovery, while remaining closely connected to her family on the East Coast.
